Game Terrain – 4′x4′ Winter Scene

I have a piece of plywood downstairs calling my name.  I want to get it prepped, so I can get started.  This is a pretty ambitious project for me.  I’ve not planned a project like this before, so I’m not sure how long it will take to complete.

Below is a sketch of my layout.  I envision a capture the flag/victory point type of scenario.  Captured flags have to be returned to the appropriate city.  Preventing a capture by utilizing fox holes will earn you victory points.

War gaming terrain – Take the hill!

Here is a walk through of the hill we’re making, for our miniature war gaming week.

We decided to do a basic, summer time theme.  Should work with any forest settings as well.

There are two ways up onto this hill, so we plan to use it as an area to capture for victory points.

Time to celebrate the 4th of July, and the upcoming Historicon with some war gaming!

What’s on the agenda?

  • Terrain Building -  ‘cuz  ya know,  range hurts.
  • Painting
  • Assembly

The games?

All this week I want to try to get some exposure to the genre, and share my experiences.

I welcome your comments on the subject, and if you’d like to submit something on the topic drop me a line here  in the comments, or…

I barely got a draw in my second game. It was a close fought game of me not losing, and at least I won that.  It was with high hopes that I would be able to do well on my next game.
