Dip Shading

Eldessa & Lurien take a Dip

Here are the results of my maiden voyage using The Army Painter’s Quick Shade in Strong Tone.   You may remember Eldessa from Miniature Painting – Project 5, and Lurien from Miniature Painting – Project 1 if you want to take a look at some of the original photos.  Lurien did in fact go through a make over after that article was completed, my first attempt at painting her didn’t go quite as planned, but the over all color scheme is the same.

I’m currently painting Lurien (03170), sculpted by Bob Ridolfi, part of the Dark Heaven Legends line from Reaper Miniatures.

Day One:  Scraped (with a hobby knife) & filed mold lines with a set of mini metal files, scrubbed her with a tooth brush and some Simple Green, rinsed her, and let her air dry over night.

Day Two:  Gave her a light coat of primer, using Krylon flat white spray. (Keyotis actually did this part, but I watched – he primed all the mini’s I had prepped at the time)
