Finished with a dip in The Army Painters QuickShade – Strong Tone

Total time to complete – 2 hours (not including dry time)

I am starting on the Splintered Light, Druid’s Children - The Faithful Box Set today.

The first three I decided to go with white Krylon for the primer, the rest will be done in black.

Since I have 20 in this set, I plan to break them up into several phases to complete the whole set.

Today I painted the Dread Portal of Maw, sculpted by Neil McKenzie, part of the “Dark Elf Sanctum” set, by Paizo Publishing LLC.

Paints used were:

  • Citadel 61-57 Bolt Gun Metal
  • Vallejo 70992 Neutral Gray
  • Vallejo 70959 Purple
  • Vallejo 70918 Ivory
  • Vallejo 70878 Gold
  • Vallejo 70914 Green Ocre

Step 1: Painted the gate itself with 61-57 Bolt Gun Metal.

Step 2:  Painted the gate detail with 70878 Gold.

Step 3: Painted the teeth/skull 70914 Green Ocre.

Step 4: Painted the teeth/skull again with 70918 Ivory.
